Dull Tin Plating

Dull Tin Plating

Dull tin plating is used commonly in electrical and electronic applications where conductivity and or solder ability are paramount.

It is also used for the coating of immersion heaters, where conductivity and corrosion protection are desired.

Key Properties of Dull Tin

  • Good Solder ability
  • Good adhesion for paint application
  • Good electrical conductivity

We have a 350Kg lifting capacity. Lengths up to 1.6 metres.

Further Technical information

Tin is a soft, pliable, silvery-white metal. Tin is not easily oxidized and resists corrosion because it is protected by an oxide film. Tin resists corrosion from distilled sea and soft tap water. Tin has low melting point 232 C and is used as a major constituent in many alloy solders.

Tin is not readily tarnished by sulphur compounds, but is attacked by strong mineral acids. Tin-plated steel containers are widely used for food preservation, due to its corrosion resistant properties.
